Management Accountant Vacancy

King Lifting ltd is a £33m, financially sound, growing and ambitious business based in Avonmouth, Bristol, providing mobile crane hire and plant/machinery movement from depots across the south of England. We also supply transport and telecoms logistics.


Due to an impending retirement, we are looking to recruit an experienced Accountant to be based at our Head Office. The ideal person for this role will be proactive in their approach and flexible as the role develops.


The role will provide support to the senior finance team as follows:

  • Develop Management accounts, Financials, Cash flows, annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Audit preparatory work with appropriate reconciliations and info Packs
  • Arrange & control Pension payment tracking
  • Take ownership of the monthly Invoice Finance facility rec, together with Ledger and Cash book support as required
  • Maintain Fixed asset register, together with related update of insurance & p11d records
  • Banking; HSBC (Payments, DDs & SOs, Reconciliation, Admin)
  • Improve & speed up monthly cycles
  • Ad Hoc Project work
  • Identification of weaknesses in procedures and controls, providing solutions
  • Liaison with all departments to ensure the financial impact of their activities is being recorded accurately
  • Assist with the interrogation of construction contracts associated with our works
  • Apply and develop approved management accounting techniques
  • Provide general support to the Senior Management team
  • A number of Excel models have been established by the current team; an ability to understand & develop these is critical to this role


Experience Required:

  • Experienced finance individual; Qualified or finalist, though qualification by experience will be considered
  • Capable of working under own initiative in support of the Finance Director
  • Management and Financial Accounting Experience
  • VAT / PAYE / Payroll experience
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Process improvement experience helpful
