King Lifting continues to enhance its fleet taking delivery of a new LTM 1650-8.1, mobile all-terrain crane.

Liebherr’s largest crane on eight axles is equipped with two telescopic boom lengths: a basic 54-metre main boom that can easily be converted to an 80-metre boom. The unit is completed with its full 90-metre luffing equipment and Y-shaped guying system, which takes the hook height to its maximum of 152 metres and radius to 112 metres, accommodating the heavier projects as well as those which require a greater working range.

The 700-tonne crane comes with a whole host of technology including the latest working at height features, WindSpeed load chart uses lifting capacity tables with different maximum wind speeds, and the innovation increases flexibility and safety when operating. VarioBallast® is also featured on the unit, the system adjusts the ballast radius by using a hydraulic slewing mechanism, and finally, VarioBase® improves the flexibility and lifting capacity of the crane even in constricted spaces.

King Lifting’s Managing Director, Tristan King commented: “We are delighted to add another LTM 1650-8.1 700-tonne capacity machine to our extensive modern fleet. We have seen the demand for this type of machine grow over the past three years since we took delivery of our first crane of this type. By adding this additional unit, it further demonstrates our commitment to supporting our clients with the latest equipment in the marketplace.”

Last year, King Lifting took delivery of several Liebherr all-terrain cranes, with lifting capacities ranging from 60 to 250 tonnes. This further supported the company’s business strategy of operating a consistent and modern fleet, featuring the most technologically advanced cranes across all lifting capacity classes.
